TIAs and

mini strokes

We have set up a rapid access and assessment of clinic for TIA patients and those patients who have had or are at risk of strokes. This clinic is designed to detect the cause of the TIA or stroke and offer rapid treatment. This clinic is run by Dr Weeks on three evenings per week with close input from the vascular surgeon Mr Valenti and the cardiologists.
Aneurysms & Arteriovenous malormation

evaluation

Many AVM's and aneurysms are detected after relatively minor symptoms or incidentally when patients have MRI scans for other problems. The management of such patients needs careful evaluation by experienced clinicians. We offer a multidisciplinary approach to such patients.

stroke care

We are able to admit patients who have had stroke or worrying TIA's for expert evaluation and treatment based upon their needs. Usually such patients are allocated to the Stroke Neurologist Dr Weeks or the Vascular Neurosurgeon Mr Tolias dependent upon their primary diagnosis. The clinic uses the Harley Street clinic for their in-patient care.

With specialist interventions and hard work, even after a major stroke, the healthy parts of your brain are capable of taking over the work of damaged regions. We are fortunate that in the London Stroke Clinic we have an excellent Rehabilitation Physician to assist in the assessment and management of rehabilitation needs.

The clinic brings together the expertise of specialists in different areas of stroke medicine to provide a comprehensive stroke service and a collaborative team approach. All consultants have NHS appointments at leading London teaching Hospitals. The clinic is based in a Georgian building in Harley Street. The team includes a vascular neurosurgeon and consultants in vascular surgery.
We offer a rapid out-patient or in-patient investigation of stroke warning symptoms (TIA's or mini-strokes) to identify treatable causes of stroke before a potentially damaging stroke may occur. We also offer a specialised service for assessment and treatment of brain aneurysm and arteriovenous malformations. In addition offer a clinic for patients affected by stroke to maximise their recovery potential.
