Consultant Neurologist and Stroke Physician

My general medical training was followed by neurology posts in many of the major neuroscience centres in London including the Hammersmith Hospital, the National Hospital for Neurology, the Royal Free Hospital and King’s College Hospital. I was appointed to the Specialist Register for Neurology in 1999. I have also done extensive research at the Hammersmith Hospital and in the National Institutes of Health in the United States looking at brain plasticity and recovery. I have been awarded a PhD in Clinical Neurosciences by Imperial College London. I have published extensively in a number of important areas in neurology and clinical neurosciences. I became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1992 and a Fellow of the Royal College in 2005.

I was appointed as consultant neurologist to King’s College Hospital in 2000. I was the lead clinician for the neurology department from 2001 to 2007. I have been involved in bringing together the neurology and stroke medicine departments at King’s. I have been on the stroke thrombolysis rota at King’s for the last 7 years. I am the clinical lead for stroke education and clinical governance at King’s. I have been working in harley street for the last five years and have set up an urgent TIA and stroke assessment clinic and are planning to bring a wider neurovascular service to Harley street.
